I recently did a double course with tennis analyst with Craig O’Shannessy. His cutting edge research is bang up to date and he has helped numerous players including Novak Djokovic understand tennis data. So based on his findings I am going to pass on some vital information that will help you improve your understanding of doubles tactics.
CENTRE WINDOW
This is the most important doubles concept and understanding the centre window sets up every other golden rule perfectly. The centre window is a virtual space and its above the net right in the middle of the court 9’x3′. If you own that space you have a greater chance of winning the point. If you don’t own it don’t hit there. Lob, go wide or create angles until you do.
